The body is a living organism of intricately connected parts that are constantly communicating and balancing each other for the health of the whole body.

The massaging of various points on the feet is a simple yet powerful way of maintaining the overall health of the body.

All the organs and glands of the body are connected by nerves that end at the feet. There are 7200 nerve endings on each foot!

When you massage the points, you are activating those nerve endings.

You can positively affect the functioning of all the organs and glands by massaging the nerve ending found at the feet

How foot reflexology works

Think of what happens when you ring a doorbell.

When you press the button outside the door, the electrical signal travels through wires to the actual door chime inside the house.

In the same way, when you press on the nerve endings found on certain parts of your feet, the nerves carry the signals to the corresponding organ or gland just like how regular wires would do.

This is essentially how foot reflexology works

If you press on the stomach reflex point on the feet (where the nerve endings leading from the stomach are) you send signals up the nerves to the stomach. This will increase blood circulation to the stomach, cause it to secrete more digestive fluids and stimulate the muscles of the stomach to work better.

We don’t have to tell the body what to do, it is intelligent and knows what to do.

All we do is trigger the innate healing response through foot reflexology massage.

I know it sounds simplistic, but I have been doing foot reflexology for over 30 years and the effectiveness of this simple God-given method never ceases to amaze me.

A little ‘garbage’ story

I’ll share a little story with you. When we moved into our home many years ago, the house come with an in-sink garbage disposal unit or garburator. Until then I didn’t know anything about what a garburator was or how it worked.

One day, a small spoon accidentally fell into the garburator along with some waste without my noticing it. When I turned on the machine, a heard the sickening sound of metal being crushed and then all went silent.

I turned off the fuse and fished out the waste along with a pretty miserable-looking, crumbled spoon. When I tried running the machine again, it didn’t work.

The next day, I called my handyman to come and take a look. He looked under the sink at the actual unit and reached underneath it. He fiddled around for a few seconds and then tried starting the machine. Suddenly, the garburator came back to life.

I was amazed at how easily he had fixed the machine. I asked him what he had done.

I will never forget his answer: “Mrs. Melwani, all you have to do is to press the re-set button at the bottom.”

Foot reflexology is like that re-set button.

It helps to re-set and harmonize imbalances by sending along signals through the nerves to various parts of your body.

These signals clear energy pathways and bring in a better supply of blood and communication within a particular area and with other parts of the body.

It’s a simple, painless and drug-less way of maintaining good health.
